Помните какие времена раньше были, лет так пять-семь назад? Мы в Microsoft вовсю бились в проектах против Sun/Oracle. Sun в свою очередь билась против Intel (сразу хочу заметить, что под битвой я понимаю именно нормальную конкурентную борьбу за кусок рынка). Ни о какой дружбе между Linux и Microsoft и речи быть не могло. Всё было предельно просто и понятно – есть несколько лагерей, есть большое количество вендоров, работающих в своих нишах. Была, кстати, дружба между Microsoft и VMware (ну использовали инженеры Microsoft VMware Workstation для демонстраций МСовских решений).
Теперь же. Novell/SuSe обвиняют в том, что они продались Microsoft, вместо кучи разных вендоров появились несколько крупных гигантов (того и гляди как Cisco проглотит EMC вместе с VMware). Многие следят в ожидании, что Oracle во главе с Ларри наложит руку на Java и будет с IBM стричь купоны, а всех остальных с рынка серверов приложений выдавят молча. Какие-то новые альянсы складываются постоянно. На том же рынке виртуализации появляются всё новые и новые вендоры – самым неожиданным, пожалуй, является Oracle.
Собственно к чему это я? К тому что обратил внимание на заголовки статей в рассылке про виртуализацию (решил вот разгрести запущенный в последнее время “рассылочный” почтовый ящик). Вот они эти заголовки:
